I am currently job-hunting, having recently finished a course in Computing and IT at the Open University.
The Open University degree was very interesting, teaching me both technical stuff (particularly Java programming, also Scratch and Wordpress) and the broader view of IT (project management, user interaction and the basics of software engineering).
Before then I worked at the Ministry of Defence, as a junior sys-admin, a member of a team that looked after big dedicated servers that held financial databases. There I learnt a lot about system administration, help-desk/service support and the Unix command line (particularly HP-UX, but also Linux).
In my own time I have started learning Python (as you can tell from this blog), HTML, CSS, SQLite and a little bit of Perl.
